Indhold

The guide is written from the first person perspective of Toa Helryx, the leader of the Order of Mata Nui, based on information compiled by the three Order members Johmak, Jerbraz, and Tobduk. The book is supposed to be an atlas and contains information on eleven major locations of the Matoran Universe and beyond: Artakha, Karzahni, Metru Nui, Voya Nui, Mata Nui, Daxia, Xia, Odina, Zakaz, Destral and Mahri Nui. Included in each entry are the history, the inhabitants, and native Rahi of the various locations.

The book features many illustrations of the islands. It also revealed many new official names for Rahi and other things, such as the Piraka's species, the Skakdi. Along with major storyline events listed in the descriptions, there are also bits of trivia. A Metru Nui timeline is also included in the book. The timeline showed old information put into better perspective.

• BIONICLE: Rahi Beasts was mentioned briefly in BIONICLE: World as one of the books in the Order of Mata Nui's library, written by Rahaga Norik.
• Johmak, Jerbraz, and Tobduk were named after the artists for BIONICLE: World: John McCormack, Jeremy Brazeal, and Toby Dutkiewicz respectively.
