Epena is a Po-Matoran native to Metru Nui.
Biography[]
Metru Nui[]
Before the Great Cataclysm, Epena lived and worked in Po-Metru. Epena was captured by the Vahki under the command of Makuta Teridax, disguised as Turaga Dume. He was then forced into a Matoran Sphere in the Coliseum but was later rescued by the Toa Metru and awakened on the shores of Naho Bay on the island of Mata Nui.[1]
Mata Nui[]
Following his imprisonment in a Matoran Sphere, Epena was weakened physically and lost his previous memories. On Mata Nui, directed by Turaga Onewa, he helped construct Po-Koro from fragments of the dismantled Airships used to bring the Matoran to Mata Nui.[2]
In Po-Koro, Epena became the Quarry Master.Skabelon:OnlineCitation During the Bohrok Invasion, he was among the Matoran that were evacuated to Ga-Koro after Tahnok swarms attacked Po-Koro. After the Pahrak swarms cornered the Matoran in Ga-Koro, Epena made a final stand with all the other Matoran present before the Bahrag were defeated by the Toa Mata.[BOA, Ep. 5-7] He later returned to Po-Koro. Epena was rebuilt into a more physically powerful form with the rest of the Matoran after the defeat of Bohrok-Kal.[BKOA, Ep. 3]
Return to Metru Nui[]
Epena helped construct boats to facilitate his and the other Matoran's return to Metru Nui. At the city, he participated in the efforts to rebuild the dilapidated city. He temporarily stopped his work of reconstruction on order of Jaller, to force the Turaga to reveal where the Toa Nuva had gone, but he eventually got back to work.[3]
When Makuta Teridax took control over Matoran Universe, he and the other Po-Matoran were ordered by the new "Turaga" Ahkmou to create statues of Teridax.Skabelon:OnlineCitation
Epena and his fellow Matoran were liberated of Teridax's rule, after the Makuta was killed, consequent to which the surviving Matoran, including Epena, emigrated from the Matoran Universe to live on Spherus Magna.[4][5]
