Gafna are small rodent-like Rahi.
History[]
The Gafna species was created by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the Matoran Universe.[1]
Gafna made their home primarily on the Southern Continent, particularly in the Voya Nui region. When the Great Cataclysm caused Voya Nui to rocket upwards to the surface of Aqua Magna, many Gafna were carried with it and survived the ascent.Skabelon:OnlineCitation
Despite Voya Nui's frequent storms, droughts, and volcanic eruptions, the Gafna were amongst the few Rahi to thrive on the new island. However, when the Toa Mahri destroyed the Cord and sent Voya Nui back to its place on the Southern Continent, its Gafna population may have not survived the descent.[2]
After the Great Spirit Robot was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, many Gafna emigrated from the Matoran Universe to Spherus Magna.[3]
Abilities and Traits[]
Gafna are relatively harmless Rahi, but can become more of a problem when they attack in large numbers, using their tails to fire blasts of energy. There are six known breeds of Gafna: Fire, Water, Air, Stone, Earth, and Ice Gafna, each adapted to living in a different habitat.
