Matoran Homes are the dwellings in which Matoran live, and come in a range of sizes and shapes. They are fashioned from various materials, usually resources which Matoran have on hand, and contain personal belongings and treasures.
Metru Nui[]
Homes on Metru Nui were very urban in design and functionality. Most featured Lightstones for illumination and were filled with items related to the Matoran's occupation.[TMeMPCD] Some Matoran kept small Rahi as pets, although a law created by Turaga Dume dictated that Rahi larger than two feet and three inches (0.5 bio) were not permitted to be kept.[1] Kanoka Disks of special value were often affixed to the wall of a house for decoration. Many houses contained a secret compartment or safe for storing valuable items or diaries.[TMeMPCD]

Ta-Metru[]
Ta-Metru houses were made of Protodermis. Inside a Ta-Matoran Mask Maker's house, one might have found decorative plaques of Kanoka and the Kanohi that they had been turned into. Ta-Matoran usually worked on small desks in their houses. Sleep pallets were present for when the residents were not at work.[VTMMPCD]
Ga-Metru[]
Ga-Metru houses were made of metallic Protodermis. Inside, there were records of Ga-Matoran study achievements and other school-related objects. Students usually kept copies of their school work. Many homes also contained miniature versions of the Protodermis Purification devices at the Ga-Metru Schools for homework purposes.[NoTMMPCD]
Le-Metru[]
Le-Metru houses were made of Protodermis. Le-Matoran often attached maps of the Chute system to their walls. Some contained small models of a particular section of the Chute system. Many Le-Matoran kept their houses in a constant state of messiness.[MTMMPCD]
Po-Metru[]
Po-Metru houses were fashioned out of stone Protodermis. Inside, Po-Matoran Carvers mounted carvings of theirs on small pedestals for display. A desk with overhead Lightstone lighting was a common feature for working in the home. Carvers usually kept blocks of uncarved Protodermis in their homes.[OTMMPCD]

Onu-Metru[]
Onu-Metru homes were made of Protodermis and are located on the surface of the Metru. Onu-Matoran Archivists kept their collections of special items in large display cases. There were also many compartments and filing cabinets for organizing tablets of importance.[WTMMPCD]
Ko-Metru[]
Ko-Metru houses were made in crystalline Protodermis. They were sparsely decorated, but were known to contain chute maps and small Protodermis basins to display miniature Knowledge Towers. Ko-Metru had comparatively few houses, as many Ko-Matoran lived inside Knowledge Towers.[NuTMMPCD]
Mata Nui[]
In each of the Koro on the island of Mata Nui, the Matoran made simple, yet effective homes to reside in.[QftT]Skabelon:OnlineCitation These homes were not as luxurious as their Metru Nui counterparts and were more survival-based than comfort-based. Many of these homes were improved upon or upgraded following the defeat of the Bohrok-Kal.Skabelon:OnlineCitation Some of these homes were damaged or destroyed by the Rahkshi's efforts to locate the Kanohi Avohkii.[2][B:MoL] All homes on Mata Nui were eventually destroyed by the reawakened Bohrok swarms.
Ta-Koro[]
The Ta-Matoran made homes out of hardened lava, and each added his own personal touches to make it unique. Many of these homes were built into the walls of the fortress itself.[QftT]Skabelon:OnlineCitationSkabelon:OnlineCitation These homes were all destroyed when Ta-Koro was sunk by the Rahkshi.[2][B:MoL]

Ga-Koro[]
The Ga-Matoran made use of seaweed and wove it together to create huts. Most Ga-Matoran homes had a small vial which contained a glowing Lightfish for illumination. Homes were often decorated with a plaque of a large fish they had caught.[QftT]Skabelon:OnlineCitation Houses contained items which were related to the Matoran's occupation or chores. For example, Nixie's house featured a large telescope for observing the Wall of Stars. In many cases, a Ga-Koro house's construction also accommodated the Matoran's occupation. When Ga-Koro was rebuilt after the strike of the Bohrok-Kal, Nixie's house became two-tiered, with the telescope moved to the upper floor to facilitate better viewing of the stars.Skabelon:OnlineCitation
Le-Koro[]
The Le-Matoran fashioned their homes out of tree bark, and kept musical instruments in their homes.[QftT]Skabelon:OnlineCitationSkabelon:OnlineCitation
