The Vuata Maca were rare and mysterious trees found on the island of Mata Nui.

History

The Vuata Maca trees were created as part of the Great Spirit Robot's camouflage system, which generated the entire island of Mata Nui.

There was a Vuata Maca tree in each village.^[QftT] They bore energy-rich Vuata Maca Tree Fruit, which were used by the Matoran to restore their energy.^[QftT] The Vuata Maca trees derived their own energy from Vuata Maca Crystals.

Near the end of the Great War, the Vuata Maca were poisoned, and therefore began to wither and die. Urged by Turaga Whenua and the local Matoran, Takua collected Vuata Maca Crystals to cleanse the trees and restore the them to their previous glory.^[QftT]

After finding Takua lost in the Drifts, Matoro nursed him back to health with a Vuata Maca Tree Fruit.Skabelon:OnlineCitation

When the Bohrok were prematurely awakened by Teridax, Toa Mata Gali witnessed a swarm of Tahnok attempt to destroy a Vuata Maca tree in Le-Wahi. In preparation for Mata Nui's awakening, the trees have since been successfully destroyed by the Bohrok.Skabelon:CN

• In BIONICLE: Quest for the Toa, Vuata Maca Tree Fruit are featured as an item pickup to restore Takua's energy after using certain items. They would have also appeared as a health-restoring pickup in BIONICLE: The Legend of Mata Nui, depicted with the same color scheme seen in Mata Nui Online Game.
