Amaja-Nui was a part of the temple of Kini-Nui. There is a pit of sand in the middle, and some stairs leading to it.

The Turaga used to tell stories on the sandpit, using stones to symbolize the beings and characters.

A big Matoran head made of stone is featured in the front of the sandpit. Later, when Takua became Takanuva, he blasted the head with his light powers and some stone from the surface rumbled and came off, making it the shape of a Pakari, Takua's mask.

The Final Battle of Rahkshi and Toa Nuva was featured on Amaja-Nui. Jaller also sacrificed his life there and Takua became the Toa of Light.

The Amaja-Nui has been destroyed by the newly awakened Bohrok.
