Defilak was a Le-Matoran. He was a Mahri Nui resident and leader when the Kanohi Ignika came to the underwater city.

Biography

Defilak was a Le-Matoran inventor and scholar. It was his turn to lead the Mahri Nui Matoran when the Mask of Life appeared. He invented and built a submarine modelled after a Takea shark in order to find out just what was preying on the Matoran, only for it to be destroyed and its crew taken captive by Pridak. After learning about the Barraki, Defilak escaped and saved Mahri Nui from a giant Venom Eel by smashing all its light stones. Defilak was equipped with two Electro-Blades. When the Toa Mahri arrived, Defilak initially distrusted them at first, ordering a massive attack on first Matoro and then his teammates, but eventually warmed up to them. Defilak gave them the name "Toa Mahri", telling them that if they were going to help the Mahri Nui Matoran, "We would be honored to call you Toa Mahri."

When the Toa Mahri were forced to destroy the Cord and crush Mahri Nui, they took the Mahri Nui Matoran to the caves under Voya Nui for safe travel in their return trip to the Southern Continent. After living on the Southern Continent for a while, he evacuated the Matoran Universe and is currently living on Spherus Magna.

The Kingdom

In an alternate timeline where Matoro failed to save the life of the Great Spirit Mata Nui, Defilak was chosen by Toa Takanuva to become a Toa of Air as part of the next generation of heroes.
