Captain of the Guard was a title given to the leader of the Ta-Koro Guard on Mata Nui. The only Captain was Jaller, who perfectly suited the occupation. He had control of the entire Ta-Koro military.
It appears that the Captain of the Guard was the leader of the Mata Nui Military, as he directed his forces along with the other military groups of Mata Nui. However, these groups remained independent of the Guard and did not have to obey Jaller's orders.
If something were to happen to Jaller, Kapura would become the Captain of the Guard.
The group was disbanded after the Matoran returned to Metru Nui.
