Fire Shields were the pair of tools carried and wielded by the Bohrok subspecies of Tahnok. These tools gave its Tahnok the power to generate intense heat and/or flame, allowing it to melt through virtually any

substance on the island of Mata Nui. The Tahnok used their shields on raids on Ta-Koro, Po-Koro and various other places. Ultimately, the shields' purpose was to help wipe clean Mata Nui, and to be used for offensive and defensive combat if needed.

Example Usage

In Comic 5: To Trap a Tahnok, a swarm of Tahnok used their Fire Shields to melt handholds in a canyon's wall, in order to climb out of it.
