The Kanohi Hau was the Kanohi Mask of Shielding. It gave the user the ability to protect himself from any seen attack, but it was useless against ambush.
The Noble version acts the same but provides a weaker shield.
Gali, Onua, Pohatu, Kopaka, and Lewa all found their Great Hau but lost them when they became Toa Nuva.
Example Usage
Onua used his Hau once to deflect the tentacles of Teridax. The shield vanished when Teridax ambushed him.

- Lhikan - Great and noble, given to Vakama upon Lhikan's death .

- Jaller - Noble, received from Lhikan after his death, lost upon arriving in Karzahni. Later retrived by Tahu.

- The Hau was a symbol of the Great Spirit Mata Nui.
- Krakua, a Toa of Sonics, wore a Suletu in the shape of a Hau.
- The word "Hau" means "snow" in Hawaiian, ironically.
