The Kanohi Dragon was a powerful creature that dwelled near Ta-Metru and would fly around Metru Nui, causing the skies to blacken and soot to fall from its body as it snaked through the heavens. Fused to its body were supposed Kanohi Masks. It is believed by some that these scale-like objects are actual Kanohi, meant to lure in unsuspecting victims, while others think that they are nothing more than scales.
History
The first storyline reference to the Kanohi Dragon is by Takadox of the Barraki who mentions that Toa "annoyed a Kanohi Dragon into submission." This event takes place some 80,000 years prior to the coming of the events of the Ignika Saga. The Dragon, after a battle, was sealed in a cave with ice.
Approximately 4000 years prior to the current story arc, the Kanohi Dragon was unleashed on Metru Nui. It was freed from its ice cave by Reidak, Vezok, and Avak on orders from The Shadowed One. The goal was for the three Dark Hunter's to offer Turaga Dume protection from the beast, in exchange for him allowing for a Dark Hunter base to be created on Metru Nui. Turaga Dume refused, and Lhikan's Team came to fight off the Dragon. After a month of fighting, the dragon was finally defeated, with special help from the 4 Toa of Ice. Takadox also claims to have been present at the its defeat. The Dragon was later delivered to the island Xia. After Botar moved the Tahtorak to Xia, the Kanohi Dragon has begun fighting it.
