Kopaka Mata List of Rarest BIONICLE Masks is a real-life article

List of Rarest BIONICLE Masks is not part of the BIONICLE storyline, which means that List of Rarest BIONICLE Masks should not be used to support storyline details or other canon sources.

This is a list of BIONICLE masks considered the rarest. This is based on numerous factors, such as their original status as misprints, or their current availability/prominence on sites such as eBay and Bricklink. This list does not always take a mask's availability into account. For instance, a mask may not be currently available on Bricklink, and its rare status is based on past listings.

Masks by Year[]

2001[]

There were many recolors of Toa Mata and Turaga masks that are considered hard to find, some more than others. Many of these masks may run up to $6 and more on Bricklink, but aren't included on this list compared to some of the pricier masks.  Great Hau Recolors Several recolors of the Great Hau are considered hard to find.

  • A trans-clear variant is available for around US $30 and up on Bricklink.
  • A trans-medium blue variant is available for around US $50 and up on Bricklink.

2003[]

Five of the six Toa Nuva masks have rare pearl light gray variants, with the exception of the Miru Nuva - which is surprisingly extremely common. One seller has nearly 2,000 of the masks, for about $2 each.

  • A pearl light gray variant of the Hau Nuva sells for US $30 and up on Bricklink.
  • A pearl light gray variant of the Akaku Nuva sells for US $50 and up on Bricklink.
  • A pearl light gray variant of the Kakama Nuva sells for around US $40 and up on Bricklink.

  • The movie edition Kraahkan from 10201 Takutanuva is available for US $40 and up on Bricklink.
  • A platinum Avohkii was awarded as a contest prize during the promotion of the Mask of Light movie. In 2014 it was sold for $15,000.

Rare Krana

  • A sterling silver Krana-Kal, in the Xa form, is extremely rare. 100 of them were made, and 72 were randomly packaged with Bohrok-Kal sets. No listings exist on Bricklink.

2004[]

  • The orange Vahi is available for US $10 and up on Bricklink, and the flat dark gold Vahi is occasionally available for US $20 and up on Bricklink.

2005[]

  • The pearl gold Kraahkan that rarely came with 8758 Tower of Toa is occasionally available on Bricklink for US $100 and up. Initially the set came with a flat dark gold mask, but later releases included a pearl gold variant instead. By that point, the set wasn't selling as frequently, and as such fewer new variants were produced. It is considered one of the rarest masks.

2007[]

  • A dark blue Great Ruru, included with Idris, is available for US $20 and up on Bricklink.

2008[]

  • A mismold of Icarax's Kraahkan, with five holes instead of six, is considered rare.

2009[]

  • The pearl gold Ignika from 8998 Toa Mata Nui is occasionally available on Bricklink for US $100 and up. It is considered one of the rarest masks.

2015[]

  • A trans-clear 2015 Hau is considered rare. Released at the New York Comic-Con in 2014, about 1,500 of the masks were made. It sells for US $50 and up on Bricklink.
  • A trans-blue 2015 Kaukau is considered extremely rare. Released through the LEGO Inside Tour, only 200 of the masks were released. Sealed versions sell for US $1000 and up on Bricklink.
