This is a list of BIONICLE masks considered the rarest. This is based on numerous factors, such as their original status as misprints, or their current availability/prominence on sites such as eBay and Bricklink.
Masks by Year
2001
There were many recolors of Toa Mata and Turaga masks that are considered hard to find, some more than others. Many of these masks may run up to $6 and more on Bricklink, but aren't included on this list compared to some of the pricier masks.
Great Hau Recolors
Several recolors of the Great Hau are considered hard to find.
- A black, blue and white variant are each available for around US $6 and up on Bricklink.
- A metallic gold variant is available for $9 and up on Bricklink.
- A chrome variant is available for around US $20 and up on Bricklink.
Great Kaukau Recolors
Several recolors of Gali Mata's mask are considered rare.
- A trans-neon orange variant is available for US $20 and up on Bricklink.
- A trans-clear variant is available for around US $30 and up on Bricklink.
- A trans-medium blue variant is available for around US $50 and up on Bricklink.

- A platinum Avohkii was awarded as a contest prize during the promotion of the Mask of Light movie. In 2014 it was sold for $15,000.

- The orange Vahi is available for US $10 and up on Bricklink, and the flat dark gold Vahi is occasionally available for US $20 and up on Bricklink.
2005
- The pearl gold Kraahkan that rarely came with 8758 Tower of Toa is occasionally available on Bricklink for US $100 and up.

- The pearl gold Ignika from 8998 Toa Mata Nui is occasionally available on Bricklink for US $100 and up.
