Makani was a Musician in Le-Koro. His job was to welcome the visitors when they came in through the gates. He was one of the few Matoran to escape the Nui-Rama during their capture of Le-Koro's population. After the liberation of his fellow villagers, Makani played in the band during the celebration of their freedom.
Later, when Le-Koro fell to the Bohrok, Makani and all but two of the Le-Koronans had their masks temporarily replaced by Krana. Fortunately, thanks to Nuparu's Boxor Squad and the help of Takua, Kongu and Tamaru, the Le-Matoran were freed of the Bohrok's influence.
After the Bohrok-Kal crisis, Makani was rebuilt at the Kini-Nui by the Turaga into a stronger form, along with the rest of the Matoran of Mata Nui. He later helped build boats for the return trip to Metru Nui.
Return to Metru Nui
After about 1,000 years on Mata Nui, Makani returned to Metru Nui with the other Matoran and the Turaga. He then helped to rebuild it until the Staff of Artakha was used to repair the rest of the city. He had also attended the ceremony held for Matoro at the Coliseum.
- Makani means "wind" in hawaiian.
