Mangaia

The Mangai is the twisted lair of Makuta. It had a gate to Metru Nui, a pool of Energized Protodermis, alot of Vahki parts which he hoped to use against the Matoran. It also is attached to the Bohrok Nest.

When the Matoran arrived on the Island of Mata Nui, it served more as Makuta's lair. Here he created the Kraata, submerged them into his pool of Energized Protodermis, and transformed them into Rahkshi. He later used the Rahkshi to find the Mask of Light, in which he was unsuccessful.

The Toa Mata battled him here, and Makuta was defeated. Takua ventured further into this lair and discovered the Bohrok. He later came back as Takanuva to fight Makuta, and he and Makuta fell into the pool after a game of Kolhii. They combined into Takutanuva. Takutanuva lifted the gate to Metru Nui, and held while Takuta brought Jaller back to life. It crushed Takutanuva, killing Makuta.

It was later looted by the Piraka. The Spear of Fusion was discovered, and the spear created Vezon.
