Hey, I just wanted to apologize for deleting your images the other day. I mis-remembered our Image Policy, and that was a mistake on my part. Again, sorry for my mistake, and thank you for pointing out the correct procedure. I appreciate it.
I re-read the function of it, and it sounds like a great tool to deter trolls and vandalizers. No need to explain why I'm undoing the sudden removal of an entire section of a page, or some ridiculous alteration to the paragraphs. xD
Exactly! The tricky part is remembering that it undoes everything by one editor. So--for example--if I make 10 edits to the Tahu page, and mess up a template, rollback would undo all 10 edits instead of the one bad edit. But primarily rollbacking is designed to quickly undo vandalism, especially if there's no admin around to ban the vandal/spammer. Glad to have you on the team!
I would guess that's generally easy to avoid, since, assuming most users taking the time to make multiple edits were doing so honestly, the need to rollback would pretty much be exclusive to vandalism and trolling, as you said.
