Principles were the lesser virtues upheld by the different Matoran types. Each principle was derived from one or two of the Three Virtues.

  • The Ta-Matoran believed in the principle of courage, derived from virtue of Duty.
  • The Le-Matoran believed in the principle of faith, derived from the virtues of Unity and Duty.
  • The Ko-Matoran believed in the principle of peace, derived from the virute of Destiny.
