Tamaru was a Le-Matoran Forest Navigator and a friend of Kongu and Takua.

History

Metru Nui

On Metru Nui, Tamaru dreamed of being an airship pilot, but his fear of heights kept him on the ground; thus, he had to find work as a used vehicle salesman. Like all of the other Matoran, he was summoned to the Coliseum by Makuta Teridax and was trapped in a Matoran Sphere. Shortly after the Great Cataclysm he was rescued by the Toa Metru, who gave their power to awaken him and the other Matoran.

Mata Nui

On the island of Mata Nui, he had the same problem when he wanted to join the Gukko Bird Force. He was appointed chief Kahu-tamer and Left Hand of Turaga Matau. Along with a few others, Tamaru was not kidnapped by the Nui-Rama, unlike most of Le-Koro. He was later part of the Chronicler's Company, helping Takua to fend off Rahi from the Kini-Nui Temple while the Toa Mata fought Teridax. He escaped with Kongu when the Le-Matoran were being possessed by Krana, and later served on the Le-Koro Kolhii Team. He competed in the village's Kohlii Stadium with his team against the Onu-Matoran. Tamaru was also a forest navigator of Le-Wahi.

Return to Metru Nui

Tamaru returned to Metru Nui and helped to rebuild it until it was repaired by the Staff of Artakha.

Spherus Magna

After helping Matoran in the Archives, he evacuated the Matoran Universe onto Spherus Magna.

Personality

Like most Le-Matoran, Tamaru was excitable and fast-talking - often to the point where even other Le-Matoran found it hard to understand him. Unlike most "high-flying" Matoran of Air, Tamaru had a crippling fear of heights that prevented him from joining the Gukko Force. Though sometimes clumsy on land, Tamaru was ironically good at swimming, while most other Le-Matoran feared the water.

In the files of MNOG, Tamaru is referred to as "Comrade Tamaru".
