What about Rollbackers? This is MarioGalaxy2433g5 by the way.
- Good point, I'll add a "Nomination for Rollback Rights" section. ToaAuserv?...BPAdmin 10:34, 13 February 2008 (EST)
everyone is going to be getting on here and nominating themselves. i want to put my name down, but i don't want to sound childish doing it. -Panakalego 00:08, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Don't worry. At another wiki I edit, there was only one RFA, ever. MarioGalaxy2433g5{Metroid/Mario/Pokemon} {talk/contribs/Logs} 00:12, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
i guess i could put my name down... -Panakalego 00:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Woah, rollback requires rights? I didn't know that? If anybody wants rollback rights, feel free to ask - we could use some more people with them. They're really, REALLY helpful. -Daiku{Whine Here} {Look what I did!} 00:51, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- then i'll put my name down! should i vote for myself or not? -Panakalego 01:09, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Rollback rights aren't horribly powerful - I'd assume that you can just ask, and get them given to you. -Daiku{Whine Here} {Look what I did!} 03:34, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- I think you should number your votes by placing a # before your signature that way we can easily count up the votes. Also, unless it is rollback rights, if you request to become an admin, there must be at least 3 votes in order for that person to become an admin. MarioGalaxy2433g5{Metroid/Mario/Pokemon} {talk/contribs/Logs} 13:15, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
where do i ask? Daiku? Wiki staff? -Panakalego 14:27, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Isn't this page just a reference for when we do need another Admin? It's kinda cruel to say Users can be nomenated, and say they can't become Admins 'cause they're not needed at the moment. -Panakalego 22:00, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Like the AFD system? Don't worry, if a vote is made in bad faith, it can be rejected. This is mostly in the case that someone is using dupe accounts to vote for themselves. If that is believed to be so, have a staff member check using checkuser. Kazi wouldn't do that, though. MarioGalaxy2433g5 {talk/contribs/Logs} 21:59, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Time limit[]
I think there should be a time limit on requests. After a certain date votes would no longer be valid for a request. MarioGalaxy2433g5 {talk/contribs/Logs} 15:13, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm in agreement with you there. Auserv! You're the guy in charge of this thing, do something. -Panakalego 15:16, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- As I mentioned on my talk page, I would suggest that three votes for=you get the powers and three votes against=removal of your request and a month before you can request again. But since a sysop or a bureaucrat is a lot bigger than rollback rights, we might want to make a rule that you must get three votes in addition to approval by the majority of the active sysops/bureaucrats. ToaAuserv?...BPAdmin 15:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Request for Rollbacker[]
I have a question. Two questions, actually. I request for Rollbacker here, or the main page of Requests for Adminship? And after I request for Rollbacker, and possibly obtain that right, after a month or so, might I request for Adminship (as a Bioniclepedia staff member)? Thank you. Racht 00:34, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- 1: Main page 2: You can make the request, but you will have to wait for a year at the least to actually get it. And that is if you don't get three votes against. -Panakalego 02:24, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
"Rollbackship"? I've never heard that one before! =P -Panakalego 15:33, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Pirakafreak24 an admin[]
Ok, so I was wondering, how many votes do I have to get to be an admin here? can I vote for myself? -- Pirakafreak24 (that's me!) ( TALK!!!! ) Life is full of too much homework. 23:10, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, I think you need 3 votes, and yes, you can vote for yourself.-|M|ata |N|ui 13:58, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Ok, its pretty clear that you guys don't want me to be an admin, and I'm cool with that. So, I reapplied for rollbacker. Maybe next year you'll trust me enough to be an administrator. I think its pretty clear that I'll love bionicle through High School. I can wait. (maybe not TOO long). -- Pirakafreak24 (that's me!) ( TALK!!!! ) Life is full of too much homework. 23:09, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Suggestion[]
I think we should make it a rule that you have to at least be a Rollbacker to run for admin. It would help keep the "I can be an admin by doing this?!" stuff off the page. Panakalego 04:40, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
- Great idea!-- Twilightfan24 (PF24) ( Talk ) ROSALIE IS SO HOT! TWILIGHT ROCKS!!! 01:13, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Here's my suggestion - you can't nominate yourself for any rights. Somebody else must suggest you. -Daiku{Whine Here} {Look what I did!} 01:19, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

- What about Rollback? It's not much more then a title itself. So do we want no self-nominations for that too? BTW: Is there a reason why users can vote for themselves? Panakalego (Admin) 06:57, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- I think Users can nominate themselves for Rollbacker, but they have to have edited for 3 weeks or so on Bpedia. As for the other question, I think users can nominate for themselves. I'm not sure why, it just makes sense. I don't have a reason.Grievousrocks68 15:36, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Well, I agree with Daiku that (at least for admin promotion) you can't nominate yourself, if the administrators or another member feel that a user can be a trusted admin, they'll get nominated. If we allow users to nominate themselves, we're just gonna gat a lot of people who want nothing other than admin access. Panakalego (Admin) 17:06, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Right. Besides, it is possible to become an Administrator without voting for yourself. I myself became one without voting for myself. I see voting for yourself as arrogant or what Panakalego said, just wanting admin access. Racht 17:50, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- One thing about taking away the ability to nominate yourself for adminship: This page is called Requests for adminship. As in, you use it to request admin powers for yourself. The entire point of this page is to ask for adminship. Maybe we could just make the rules more strict; for example, you can't ask for rollback until you have at least 100 edits (at least 50% of these on serious edits, not user/talk/forum/blog) and have been active for at least the three months; can't ask for sysop powers unless you're already a rollbacker, have at least 500 edits, and have been active for a year; can't ask for bureaucrat powers at all, you have to be selected unanimously by the other admins. The numbers were made up on the spot and we can change them to whatever if you guys agree to this. ToaAuserv?...BPAdmin 18:34, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Honestly, I still say you can't nominate yourself. You can request adminship for someone else, though, and you can ask a buddy to nominate you too. That just my personal opinion, Daiku should put in his again, since this is his thing. Panakalego (Admin) 21:17, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, heres what I think. Users can nominate themselves and vote for themselves for rollbackership. For adminship, they have to be nominated, the nominator can't vote and the nominee can't vote. How does that sound?-- Pirakafreak24 ( Talk ) Happy Holidays! 16:20, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Voting for Adminship Rights[]
Are all users allowed to vote for or against someone for adminship, or do they have to be an admin themselves? OsmiuMap - You have no new messages. 20:47, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, all users are allowed to vote. -Daiku{Whine Here} {Look what I did!} 21:30, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- But I'm not allowed to vote for myself, right?Mata Nui (BP Rollbacker) 21:32, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- I'd think not. Not as if it'll make much of a difference. -Daiku{Whine Here} {Look what I did!} 21:48, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Wait a minute, it was agreed that admins can only be nominated by admins right? In that case I'm removing the people who weren't nominated by admins now. Where do you vote if you want to become an admin?

Modification to the voting rules.[]
"If you or someone you nominate is running for adminship, only admins are allowed to vote at first. If the majority of admins agree on the user becoming an admin, then the community votes."
I'd like to suggest we remove this, and let everyone vote (which is how I think we're functioning anyways). That way, we don't have nominations sitting around forever. -Daiku{Whine Here} {Look what I did!} 03:52, November 29, 2011 (UTC)

- Here's an idea for a new system:
- Someone nominate a candidate for adminship.
- The community votes.
- If the result is no, nothing happens except the nomination is removed.
- If the result is yes, then any beaurocrat is free to promote the nominee as soon as he wishes.
- However, if the result is yes, but an admin feels the the nominee is should not be promoted to administrator/b'crat, for one reason of another, he/she may request that ALL admins vote on the matter.
- If 33% or more of the admins decide that the nominee should not be promoted AND a good reason is provided, the decision of the community will be overruled.
- If 67% or more of the admins decide that the nominee should be promoted, then the nominee will be promoted.
We will also have to decide on rules for how long time the vote(s) will be open, or if there are already rules on that matter (I believe there is), those will have to be looked over, and if needed, revised, so we can start enforce them. - Mata Nui Talk 19:07, August 23, 2012 (UTC)

Promotion?[]

And sorry to ask this, but aren't SS7 and Blahmarrow temporary admins, or have they been "promoted" to permanent admins?
