The Toa Metru Mini Promo CDs were mini CD-ROMs packaged with special releases of the Toa Metru canisters in 2004. Each CD chronicled its corresponding Toa's search for the missing Great Disk Matoran with interactive gameplay. Players advanced from screen to screen by solving sliding tile and memory puzzles, information learned from conversations with Matoran, and other activities. At a certain point in each CD, a mini-movie, featuring the Toa Metru in action and relevant to the storyline, would play. Players were able to monitor their progress with the help of small circular icons that would light up when a screen was completed. Once the storyline content of the CD was completed, a final screen appeared which presented the option to play the mini-movie again or to restart gameplay. This screen also contained advertisements for BIONICLE: The Game, BIONICLE: Mask of Light, BIONICLE 2: Legends of Metru Nui, and BIONICLE.com. For a time, the content could be downloaded directly from BIONICLE.com Kanoka Club, although that option was later removed. When the advertisements on the final screen were accessed, each linked to the 2004 Storyline page on BIONICLE.com. Also, the content has become incompatible with some of the new operating systems and versions of shockwave flash. The Promo CD's storyline is an adaptation of BIONICLE Adventures 1: Mystery of Metru Nui and Comic 16: Toa Metru!.

Dangerous plants called Morbuzakh are threatening to wreck the city of Metru Nui. The Toa must find six incredibly powerful Great Disks if they wish to save their home. But the only Matoran who know where the disks can be found have disappeared as well.
- Vakama - The player must help Toa Vakama locate the missing Ta-Metru Matoran Nuhrii.
- Nokama - The player must assist Toa Nokama in finding the missing Ga-Metru Matoran Vhisola.
- Matau - The player has to help Toa Matau in his search for the missing Le-Metru Matoran Orkahm.
- Onewa - The player must aid Toa Onewa in finding the missing Po-Metru Matoran Ahkmou.
- Whenua - The player has to assist Toa Whenua to find the missing Onu-Metru Matoran Tehutti.
- Nuju - The player must help Toa Nuju search for the missing Ko-Metru Matoran Ehrye.
