The Toa often traveled in groups of six called Toa Teams. While usually a group of six Toa, a Toa Team could include any number of Toa, theoretically. The largest team seen were the Toa Mangai, that had over 300 members during the Toa\Dark Hunter War), though normally they had only 11. The Bionicle story followed the adventures of three main Toa teams: the Toa Mata/Toa Nuva, the Toa Metru/Toa Hordika and the Toa Inika/Toa Mahri. Often, all members of the Team have the same destiny, like the Toa Mata/Toa Nuva or the Toa Metru/Toa Hordika. Sometimes, one Toa would have a different destiny than his/her team, like Lhikan and Matoro.
Main Toa Teams[]

- Toa Mata/Toa Nuva - The first main Toa team, featured in BIONICLE Chronicles and BIONICLE Legends.
- Toa Metru/Toa Hordika - The second main Toa team, featured in BIONICLE Adventures.

- Toa Mangai - The largest team known in the storyline; not all members have been revealed.
- Toa Hagah - Guardians of the Brotherhood of Makuta before the Brotherhood became evil.
- Toa Cordak - The first Toa Team, although not the first Toa. All except Lesovikk were killed by Zyglak.
